This epic cottage getaway was a significant challenge with minimal to no existing soil and difficult lakeside access requiring usage of crane for some features. High roadside exposure is eliminated with a casual, cottage path masked and scaled by massive trees, installed in large berms. A large elevated stone terrace enabled unobstructed views on the lakeside with frameless glass railings. The entire patio is heated with geothermal.
A lower Bunkie includes the installation of a LiveRoof system, with low maintenance sedum plantings in modules designed for maximum water management, providing a natural cooling effect to the building.
